What’s the difference between a prescription hearing aid and an over the counter (OTC) or self fit hearing aid?
A prescription hearing aid requires a hearing test and is designed so all the different levels of sound frequency can be adjusted individually. For example, if you have a hard time hearing a higher pitch sound such as a female voice, the volume can be turned up on that level of sound but the other sounds can remain the same.
